Consortium of Latino Employee Organizations (CLEO)
In 2009, Dr. Robert Rodriguez gathered 13 Chicagoland companies to establish the Consortium of Latino Employee Organizations (CLEO). The goal of CLEO is to bring together the leaders of Hispanic/Latino ERGs on a quarterly basis to:
Benchmark Latino ERG structure and events
Network with their Latino ERG peers
Share Best Practices
Collaborate on Latino ERG events
Engage in joint leadership development initiatives
Today, there are 30 CLEO member companies who haven’t missed a single opportunity to gather on a quarterly basis since their first meeting in 2009. Each quarterly meeting is held at a different CLEO member company location.
Some of the CLEO member companies include:
Blue Cross Blue Shield – Illinois
BMO Harris Bank
16. Ernst & Young
17. Fifth Third Bank
18. General Electric
19. H&R Block
20. Hyatt Hotels
21. JonesLang LaSalle (JLL)

CLEO Bay Area
Beginning in 2018, a new entity called the Consortium of Latino Employee Organizations (CLEO) is launching in the Bay Area of California. This new entity is called CLEO Bay Area.
CLEO Bay Area will leverage the foundation established by Conexiones, a network of Latino professionals in the Bay Area that has shared ERG best practices for the past several years.
Similarly, the objective of CLEO Chicago, CLEO Bay Area is to gather the leaders of Latino ERGs from top corporations in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley area on a quarterly basis to share best practices, network, find areas to collaborate and participate in professional development
2018 New Members
Thanks to all the CLEO member companies that renewed their membership for 2018. I’m pleased to welcome our newest CLEO member companies:
2018 1st Quarter CLEO Meeting
We were hosted by Enlace, the Latino ERG at Kellogg School of Management, at Northwestern University. We heard about diversity initiatives at Northwestern, saw an overview of Enlace, talked about Latino & ERG Summits and participated in an enlightening conversation about diversity & leadership by Kellogg faculty member Dr. Bernie Banks.
Dr. Banks serves as the Associate Dean for Leadership Development and he will lead a session on diversity and leadership. For more about Dr. Banks, check out his faculty page -- https://tinyurl.com/y9lmwxgj
After the official CLEO meeting, we’ve added an optional tour of the Kellogg Global Hub. Plus, CLEO members were invited to a panel session on Latino Leadership with Kellogg administrators.
NEXT CLEO MEETING
We are pleased to announce that HOLA, the Latino ERG at Google, has agreed to host our big CLEO 10-Year Celebration and Member meeting event at their Chicago office in the Fulton Market area. More information and details to come but you won’t want to miss this big event in recognition of our 10-year anniversary for CLEO.
